Has a Healthcare Provider Told You….

  • “You’re just getting older.”

  • “Just stop running.”

  • “Maybe you need new shoes or a new orthotic.”

  • “Do more stretching.”

  • “You just need to lose weight.”

  • “Take this anti-inflammatory and rest for a few weeks.”

We have helped many athletes compete in endurance events, run their first 5ks, and qualify for the Boston Marathon!

“I’ve been a distance runner for 20+ years and was sick of: plateauing in my fitness, dealing with long-term foot pain, and waiting for my hips to collapse around mile 20 of every marathon I competed in. After working with Andrew I’m feeling stronger than ever. My foot pain is gone and I’m ready to conquer my next marathon.”— Adam E., HART & HUSTLE CLIENT

FAQs

Do You Perform Running Evaluations?

Yes! Our running evaluations include a comprehensive gait assessment along with both table and turf movement assessments. We take time to look at the full picture by assessing your mobility, strength, power, and overall performance. Using the information gathered during your evaluation, we design a customized program to help you run pain free, efficiently, and with confidence.

What Are Some of the Common Running Injuries You Treat?

We treat a wide range of running-related injuries. Some of the most common include tendinopathies, overuse injuries, and bone stress injuries. Our comprehensive assessment helps us identify the root cause of your injury so we can develop a personalized plan to get you back to running safely and confidently.

Do I Need to Stop Running?

Not necessarily. To answer that question properly, it is important to have a thorough evaluation to understand the extent of your injury. Our approach is to adjust your running volume and training load before completely stopping running whenever possible. Every situation is unique, but our goal is never full rest from running or strength training. There is always something you can be doing to keep moving toward your goals, and we are here to help you find that balance.

Do I Need to Do More than Run?

Yes. While running is a great way to build endurance and stay active, your body experiences up to eight times your body weight in force with each step. Your muscles, tendons, and bones need to be properly prepared to handle that demand. Many running injuries happen because the body compensates for a weakness or a previous injury. For example, calf pain may actually stem from an unresolved knee issue or a past injury on the opposite side. Our customized evaluation helps identify the root cause of your pain and allows us to design a personalized plan to keep you running strong and injury free.
